Епштейн—Барр вірусна інфекція у дітей

Вірус Епштейн—Барр (EBV) — надзвичайно поширений у популяції вірус, збудник інфекційного мононуклеозу, персистує безсимптомно протягом усього життя у інфікованих осіб. На відміну від інших герпесвірусів, реактивація EBV не має суттєвого значення в клінічній практиці, за винятком імуноскомпрометованих пацієнтів (Х-зчеплений лімфопроліферативний синдром, імуносупресія після трансплантації), у яких розвиваються лімфопроліферативні захворювання. Вірус Епштейн Барр асоціюється з розвитком злоякісних пухлин. Первинна EBV-інфекція зазвичай безсимптомна у дітей раннього віку, в старшому віці перебігає з класичними симптомами: лихоманка, фарингіт, лімфаденопатія. Одужання повне за кілька тижнів від початку захворювання. Основою лікування EBV-індукованого інфекційного мононуклеозу є симптоматична терапія. Призначення противірусних препаратів та кортикостероїдів у лікуванні первинної EBV-інфекції залишається дискутабельним і загалом не рекомендується.
