Objective: to improve the quality of early diagnosis and efficacy of complex treatment of secretory otitis media (SOM) in children by using mometasone furoate (drug «Flix»).
Material and methods. Clinical laboratory and instrumental examination of 40 children with SOM was carried out. Children of the treatment group (20 patients) were administered standard therapy along with mometasone furoate. In the control group were enrolled 20 patients, who were prescribed standard therapy combined with nasal decongestants.
Results. The clinical and laboratory study results showed that the SOM management regimen was more efficient in case of standard therapy and two week topical SCS nasally combination, followed by therapy prolongation once daily during 14 days.
Conclusions. The high efficacy of the developed combined therapy of SOM in children with the use of mometasone furoate (drug «Flix») is proved.
