The scientific and practical journal «Здоров'я жінки. Здоровье женщины. Health of Woman» is an open access journal that publishes researches in all areas of women's health science by the criteria of originality, relevance and interdisciplinary interest.
The journal «Здоров'я жінки. Здоровье женщины. Health of Woman» is a modern platform for scientific communication that covers all the aspects of science and clinical knowledge about women's health. The journal publishes the research articles, clinical case reports, articles about all aspects of women's health and include not only the main areas of reproductive and post-reproductive health, but also cover all aspects of women's health.

All the articles submitted to the journal are reviewed in the "blind" format, fair, partnering review process. The journal articles are published 10 times a year in Ukrainian, Russian and English. The journal has been published since 1998. In 2019 it was re-registered with the founders: Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education, State Institution «Institute of Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology named after academic Elena M. Lukyanova NAMS Ukraine”, the citizens of Ukraine Bakhtiiarova D.O. and Shcherbinska O.S.”

The abstracts and full text (PDF) of all the articles in the journal are available to read immediately after publication. We adhere to the Uniform requirements for manuscripts submitted to biomedical journals Issued by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and Code of Conduct for Journal Editors of Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

The journal covers a wide range of the researches on different topics about female health: medical education on women's health care and reproduction, cardiology related to the reproductive problems of women's health, sports medicine in women's health sciences and women's reproduction, psychiatry in reproductive problems related to women's health, antioxidant therapy in the sciences of reproductive medicine, nutrition in the sciences of women's health and reproduction, fertility and infertility, urogynecology, endometriosis, endocrinology, breast cancer, menopause, puberty, pregnancy, preterm birth, vaginal diseases, biology and gender aspects, surgical procedures, obstetrics/gynecology, polycystic ovary syndrome, hyperandrogenism in women, menstrual syndrome and complications, oncological problems of female genitalia, traditional medicine and female reproductive health, ultrasound examination in women's health reproduction sciences, stem cell research in women's reproductive sciences, complementary medicine in women's reproductive health, female sexual dysfunction: pathophysiology and treatment, and so on.

The journal is based on independent and unbiased double-blinded peer-reviewed principles. Only unpublished papers that are not under review for publication elsewhere can be submitted.

The authors are responsible for the scientific content of the material to be published. The Journal reserves the right to request any research materials on which the paper is based.

Printed copies of the journal are distributed during scientific and practical activities (live events), presented in all leading scientific institutions and medical libraries in Ukraine. All articles are also available in PDF, HTML format on the journal website (URL), websites of  National Library of Ukraine (URL), Ukrainian Scientific Citation Index (URL) and are made freely available immediately upon publication. Health of Woman is published in Ukrainian, Russian and English 10 times a year.

Mission

Health of Woman mission is to distribute original medical data of the highest value for a diverse audience of those that participate in pediatric care: practicing and general pediatricians, academic general and subspecialty physicians and clinicians, researchers, educators, pharmacists, social workers, nutritionists and others. Supporting and continuously deepening knowledge and practical skills of pediatric healthcare professionals, the journal contribute to improving the quality of care and the health of infants, children, and adolescents.

Health of Woman believes that high quality and ethical publication will lead to the progressive development of medical sciences and healthcare in Ukraine.

Open Access Policy

Women's Health Magazine provides open access to its content immediately upon publication, based on the following principle: Open access to research results ensures the free dissemination of scientific information, facilitating broad knowledge sharing. Articles may be read, copied, printed, and distributed provided that their use is not for commercial purposes and the authors and publisher have the appropriate rights. All articles in this journal have the status of Free Open Access and do not affect the financial interests of both funding bodies and academic institutions.

Conflict of interest policy

All participants in the peer-review and publication process (authors, referees, editors, members of editorial board)  must disclose to the editor-in-chief any conflict of interest related to personal, family, financial, political or religious issues as well as any competing  interest while fulfilling their roles in the process of article review and publication and must disclose all relationships that could be viewed as potential conflicts of interest. If editorial staff, referees have a conflict of interest and/or believes that it is not appropriate to be a referee, or an editor for a given manuscript, the referee or the editor should resign from the assignment.

The Editorial Board members of the journal, who treat submissions and recommend their opinions to the Editor-in-chief may also submit their own manuscripts to the journal because  all of them are leading researchers and scientists. However, they cannot participate at any stage on the editorial decision of their manuscripts in order to minimize any possible bias. They will be treated like any other author, and if any, final acceptance of such manuscripts can only be made by the positive recommendation of at least two external reviewers, who are not the members of decision-making Editorial Boar.

When authors submit a manuscript of any type or format they are responsible for disclosing all financial and personal relationships that might bias or be seen to bias their work. Authors must declare any such conflict in the cover letter accompanying the manuscript and in the acknowledgments section of the manuscript itself. The corresponding author or all authors should be asked to sign the manuscript on the last page regarding potential conflicts of interest at the time of acceptance. Where authors have no conflict of interests, the statement should read “The author(s) declare(s) that they have no conflict of interests”. This policy applies to all submitted research manuscripts and review material.

All necessary information regarding the process of a manuscript can be obtained from the editorial office. However, the names of the handling editor and the reviewers are not given to the author(s). Due to the Health of Woman double-blinded review principles, the names of authors and reviewers are not known to the each other.

Plagiarism policy

The journal Health of Woman strives for the highest standards of research and publication ethics, and does not allow any form of plagiarism. All submitted manuscripts are screened with plagiarism software at least two times during the evaluation process to detect instances of overlapping and similar text

The Journal defines plagiarism as a case in which a manuscript reproduces another work having with 10% and more similarity scores and without attribution. If evidence of plagiarism is found before/after acceptance or after publication of the article, the author will be offered a chance for rebuttal. If the arguments are not found to be satisfactory, the manuscript will be retracted and the author sanctioned from publishing articles for a period to be determined by the responsible Editor(s).

In any case while an ethical misconduct is suspected, the editorial of the journal will act in accordance with the relevant international rules of publication and research ethics (COPE guidelines, ICMJE Recommendations, CSE White Paper on Publication Ethics, WAME resources, WMA policies and ORI).

Acknowledgement of authorship

All persons designated as authors should qualify for authorship. Each author should have participated sufficiently in the work to take public responsibility for the content. Authorship credit should be based only on substantial contributions to

– conception and design, or analysis and interpretation of data;

– drafting the article or revising it critically for important intellectual content;

– final approval of the version to be published. Conditions 1, 2, and 3 must all be met.

Participation solely in the acquisition of funding or the collection of data does not justify authorship. General supervision of the research group is not sufficient for authorship. Any part of an article critical to its main conclusions must be the responsibility of at least one author. Editors may ask authors to describe what each contributed; this information may be published.

All members of the group who are named as authors, either in the authorship position below the title or in a footnote, should fully meet the above criteria for authorship. Group members who do not meet these criteria should be listed, with their permission, in the Acknowledgments or in an appendix. The order of authorship should be a joint decision of the coauthors. Authors may wish to explain the order of authorship in a footnote.

Increasingly, multicenter trials are attributed to a corporate or corresponding author. The corresponding author ensures that all contributing co-authors and no uninvolved persons are included in the author list. The corresponding author will also verify that all co-authors have approved the final version of the article and have agreed to its submission for publication

The authors are responsible for the content of the article and for the fact of its publication. The editorial staff reserves the right to shorten and edit the articles submission.

Publishing licenses, archiving and self-archiving policy

The policy of the Journal “Health of Woman” are compatible with the vast majority of funders' open access and self-archiving policies. The journal does not require authors of original (primary) research papers to assign the copyright of their published contributions. Authors grant the journal an exclusive licence to publish the papers, under a creative commons attribution-noncommercial 4.0 international license (СС BY-NC), which allows others to freely distribute the published research with the obligatory reference to the authors and the first publication of the original work in this journal. Copyright of the manuscripts is retained by the authors, after publication authors retain rights to reuse their papers in their future printed work without first requiring permission from the publisher of the journal and share their own published articles.

The journal supports the self-archiving process. Prior to publication in the journal, authors may post a copy of their manuscript in preparation or submitted to the journal in recognized non-commercial preprint servers, public websites.  Authors also are encouraged to archive their final author version of the manuscript in their institution's repositories and, if they wish, on their personal websites. Authors should cite the publication reference and DOI number on the first page of any deposited version, and provide a link from it to the URL of the published article on the journal's website.

To facilitate self-archiving of original research papers and help authors fulfil funder and institutional mandates, the journal deposits manuscripts in National Library of Ukraine by V.I. Vernadsky, Scientific periodicals of Ukraine database and different international scintificd database on behalf of authors who opt-in to this free service during submission. The journal provides depositing of articles on official website of the publisher. The full text access to published papers is free.

Editorial process

All manuscripts submitted for publication are strictly reviewed for their originality, methodology, importance, quality, ethical nature and suitability for the journal. Health of Woman uses a common standard scheme for the evaluation process. The editor-in-chief has full authority over the editorial and scientific content of the journal and the timing of publication of the content.

The whole editorial process consists of the successive steps.  Immediately after submission, technical review is carried out by editorial staff (editor-in-chief, associate editors or editorial board member) to assess suitability of the manuscript to the journal: topicality and importance of the subject, the clarity of presentation, and relevance to the audience of the journal in question. Submissions that fully do not conform to the requirements of the publication will be rejected. In cases where only minor revisions are recommended, the author is usually requested to revise the paper. Authors whose articles are accepted will be notified accordingly and the article will undergo further processing.  Technical reviews are typically processed in a few days after submission.

Any submitted manuscripts are treated as confidential documents. Editor(s) and editorial staff are obliged not to disclose any information about a submitted paper to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate. The journal operates a rigorous peer-review process. Review is performed on a double-blind basis – the identities of peer reviewers and authors are kept confidential. They must not be disclosed to or discussed with others except as authorized by the Editor-In-Chief.

At least two review reports are collected for each submitted article. Suggestions of reviewers can be made by the Editor-In-Chief during technical reviews. Alternatively, editorial staff can use qualified Editorial Board Members, qualified reviewers from the journal database, or new reviewers identified by web searches for related articles.

To assist academic editors, editorial staff of the journal handle all communication with reviewers, authors, and the external editors. Reviewers are given three – four weeks to write their review. For the review of a revised manuscript, reviewers are asked to provide their report within one week. In both cases, extensions can be granted on request.

The peer review is followed by a final acceptance/rejection decision by the Editor-in-Chief, or another academic editor approved by the Editor-in-Chief. When making an editorial decision the Editor-in-Chief or academic editor checks the suitability of selected reviewers, adequacy of reviewer comments and author response, overall scientific quality of the paper. The editor can select the follows: accept, reject, ask author for revision of the paper, ask for an additional reviewer. If there is any suspicion that a paper may contain plagiarism, the editorial office will check using plagiarism detection software to screen the manuscript. Peer reviewers complete a referee report form to provide general comments to the editor and specific comments to the author. Editors-in-Chief are free to disagree with their views. If they do so, they should justify their decision, for the benefit of the authors.

The publication process after submission may take 4 to 6 months.

However, all accepted manuscripts are assigned with a DOI number following their acceptance. The journal carries out production on all manuscripts, including language editing, copy editing and conversion to PDF or XML.

The journal “Health of Woman” is a member of International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and follows its procedures for dealing with potentially unethical behaviour by authors, reviewers or editors.

For all research studies the journal's policy requires an approval of research protocols by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with international agreements “WMA Declaration of Helsinki – Ethical Principles for Medical Research Involving Human Subjects (last updated: October 2013, Fortaleza, Brazil)” , «Guide for the care and use of laboratory animals (8th edition, 2011)» and/or “International Guiding Principles for Biomedical Research Involving Animals (2012)”.

When reporting research involving human data, authors should indicate whether the procedures were conducted in accordance with bioethical standards and assessed by the local ethics committee or national bioethics commission. The same applies to researcher involving laboratory animals. When reporting experiments on animals, authors should indicate whether all necessary procedures were carried out in accordance with national and international standards for the care and use of laboratory animals.

If the submitted manuscript does not include ethics committee approval, it will be reviewed according to COPE's guideline (Guidance for Editors: Research, Audit and Service Evaluations). If the study should have ethical approval, authors will be asked to provide ethical approval in order to proceed the review process. If they cannot provide ethical approval, their manuscript will be rejected.

If the study does not need ethics committee approval after the editorial board’s review, the authors will be asked to provide an ethics committee approval or a document given by a related independent committee that indicates the study does not need ethics committee approval according to the research integrity rules in their country. If the authors provide either an approval or a document showing that ethics approval is not needed, the review process can be continued. If the authors cannot provide either documents, the manuscript may be rejected.

Approval by a local ethics committee does not preclude editors from forming their own judgment whether the conduct of the research was appropriate.

For articles concerning experimental research on humans, a statement should be included that shows informed consent of patients and volunteers was obtained following a detailed explanation of the procedures that they may undergo. The journal may request a copy of the Ethics Committee Approval received from the relevant authority. Informed consent must also be obtained for case reports.

Patients have a right to privacy that should not be violated without informed consent. Identifying information, including names, initials, or hospital numbers, should not be published in written descriptions, photographs, or pedigrees unless the information is essential for scientific purposes and the patient (or parent or guardian) gives written informed consent for publication. Informed consent for this purpose requires that an identifiable patient be shown the manuscript to be published. Authors should disclose to these patients whether any potential identifiable material might be available via the Internet as well as in print after publication.

Patient consent should be written and archived with the authors at the institution where research was conducted. The authors provide the journal with a written statement that attests that they have received and archived written patient consent. The requirement for informed consent should be included in the journal's instructions for authors. When informed consent has been obtained it should be indicated in the published article.

The manuscript must include in the section «Materials and methods» a statement identifying the institutional local ethics committee approving the experiments, including any relevant details For experiments involving human subjects, authors must identify the local ethics committee approving the experiments, and include with their submission a statement confirming that informed consent was obtained from all subjects. 

Criteria for publication

Journal receives many more submissions than it can publish in each edition. It is therefore important that manuscripts are critically evaluated for compliance with the following criteria:

• Strong evidence for the conclusions that are drawn
• Novelty (abstracts, meeting proceedings, preprints are not considered to compromise novelty)
• Broad clinical significance
• Importance to the specific field

Review process

Once a manuscript is submitted for publication as a hard copy by mail, it is registered (date of registration) and is subject to double blind peer review, neither the authors nor the reviewers do not know each other. All submitted manuscripts are assessed by the editor(s) for suitability for the review process. The average time of the reviewing process is 4 – 6 months.

Manuscripts that are sent for formal review typically go to 2 referees who are appointed by the editorial board. The referees are asked for their opinion about the suitability of the paper for publication. Based on their advice, the editor decides to:

– accept the manuscript, with or without minor revision

– invite the authors to revise the manuscript to address specific concerns before a final decision is reached

– or reject the manuscript, typically on grounds of specialist interest, lack of novelty, insufficient conceptual advance or major technical and/or interpretational problems.

The result of the review is based on the offered recommendations of the reviewers and decision of the editor on publication of the article is final. In the case of a positive result of the review, the manuscript is sent to the editor for further processing and publication. If necessary, the manuscript is sent to the author for revision in accordance with the recommendations of the reviewer(s). Revised manuscript sent for re-review. In the case of the negative results of the review, the author receives the information that the article is not accepted for publication with motivated refusal. The manuscript is not returned to the author.

Journal editors treat the submitted manuscript and all communication with authors and referees as confidential. Authors must also treat communication with the journal as confidential: correspondence with the journal, reviewers' reports and other confidential material must not be posted on any website or otherwise publicised without prior permission from the editors, whether or not the submission is eventually published.

Selecting referees

Referee selection is critical to the review process, and our choice is based on many factors, including expertise, reputation, specific recommendations, and our previous experience with the referee. We avoid using referees who are chronically slow, sloppy, too harsh or too lenient. We invite referees and only on acceptance of the invitation will a referee have access to the full paper.

Upon receiving a manuscript to referee

To avoid unnecessary delays in processing manuscripts, please do the following immediately upon receipt of a manuscript for review:

• check thoroughly the deadline to ensure that there have been no misunderstandings
• in regarding to timing, contact the editorial office immediately if you anticipate any difficulties
• read the editor's letter carefully and be sure to note any points specific to the manuscript that the editor may have requested your opinion on
• skim the manuscript and consider whether there might be a conflict of interest for you (with the authors, their institution, their funding sources) and whether you can judge the article impartially
• consider whether the topic seems to fit the scope of the journal and is likely to be of sufficient general interest for publication.

Confidentiality

Referees should treat the review process as being strictly confidential, and should keep the following guidelines in mind:

– refereed manuscripts for the Journal should not be discussed with anyone not directly involved in the review process

– if colleagues or experts are consulted, they should be identified to the editors

– referees should, as a rule, not disclose their identities to the authors or to other colleagues since they may be asked to comment on the criticisms of other referees and may then find it difficult to be objective. Should they feel strongly about making their identities known to the authors, they should do so via the editor. We strongly disapprove of any attempt by authors to determine the identities of referees or to confront them, and encourage referees to neither confirm nor deny any speculation in this regard.

Writing the report

The main purpose of referee reports is to provide the editors with the information that they need to reach a decision, but they should also instruct the authors on how to strengthen their manuscript if revision is a possibility. Referees are asked to submit both confidential comments to the editor and those that can be directly transmitted to the authors. We recommend the following division of the report:

While transmitting comments to the authors, referees are asked to maintain a positive and impartial, but critical, attitude in evaluating manuscripts. Criticisms should remain dispassionate; offensive language is not acceptable. As far as possible, a negative report should explain to the authors the weaknesses of their manuscript, so that they can understand the basis for a decision to ask for revision or to reject the manuscript. The report for authors should not include a recommendation regarding publication, which is regarded as confidential information since the final decision regarding acceptance, revision or rejection rests with the editor.

Timing

The Journal is committed to rapid editorial decisions and publication as efficiency in this process is a valuable service both to our authors and the scientific community as a whole. We therefore ask that referees respond promptly or inform us if they anticipate a significant delay, which allows us to keep the authors informed and, where necessary, find alternative referees.

Conflicts of interest

In order to ensure fairness in the referee process, we try to avoid referees who: have recent or ongoing collaborations with the authors, have commented on drafts of the manuscript, are in direct competition, have a history of dispute with the authors, or have a financial interest in the outcome. Because it is not possible for the editors to know of all possible biases, however, we ask referees to draw our attention to anything that might affect their report, including commercial interests, and to decline to referee in cases where they feel unable to be objective. We do not find it necessary to exclude referees who have reviewed a paper for another journal; the fact that two journals have independently identified a particular person as well qualified to referee a paper does not decrease the validity of her/his opinion in our view.

Publication policy and ethical considerations

In spite of the journal best efforts to identify breaches of publication policy or ethical conduct, such as plagiarism or author conflict of interest, the referees who are more familiar with the field are more likely to recognise such problems and should alert the editors to any potential problems in this regard.

These guidelines are designed for authors in accordance with the requirements of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), which aims to use best practices and ethical standards in research and their publication in medical journals.

The journal accepts articles on the results of research, including dissertations, review articles, case reports, comments and other materials.

The authors are responsible for the accuracy and originality of the materials provided (facts, quotations, surnames, names, research results, etc.).

The editorial staff provides peer review of articles, performs specialized and literary editing, and reserves the right to reduce the volume of articles. The refusal of the authors to publish the article can be done without explaining its reasons and not be considered as a negative conclusion about the scientific and practical importance of the work.

Non-compliant articles are not reviewed and returned to authors.

Directing the article for publication

The manuscript is sent to the publisher by mail or e-mail alexandra@zdr.kiev.ua. The manuscript is accompanied by an official letter from the research institution signed by the organization's management; the opinion of the expert committee of the institution, as well as the cover page of the manuscript signed by the head of the organization, certified by the seal of the institution. Scanned copies of the supporting documents can be sent to the publisher's email address.

Cover Letter. The cover letter indicates the title of the article, the full name of the author (s), the type of article (eg original article, clinical case description, review article, etc.), the absence or presence of a conflict of interest, and that the study and drafting of the manuscript were followed ethical requirements. In addition, there must be a statement that the manuscript has not yet been published, accepted or is under consideration by another publisher. Simultaneous submission of the manuscript to different publishers, as well as duplication of articles (even if the article is published in another language) is not allowed.

Expert opinion of the institution for publication. Each research institution has an expert commission. The main purpose of the expert committee is to provide a preliminary conclusion on the possibility of publishing an article that indicates compliance with ethical and publication standards, the conclusion of the local ethics committee, confidentiality, innovation of the article, conflict of interest, etc. The result of the peer review is a positive decision to send an article for publication, which is sent to the journal together with a cover letter and manuscript.

General Data
The manuscript should be typed in Microsoft Word, A4 format, Times New Roman font, size 12, line spacing 1.5, margins: upper and lower 2.0 cm, left 2.5 cm, right 1.0 cm.

Illustrations (tables, figures) should be placed after the first mention in the text.

When using abbreviations / abbreviations in the text, they are required to be deciphered at first mention (abbreviation / abbreviation is placed in parentheses), then only the abbreviation / abbreviation in the unchanged form is used throughout the text. Authors should avoid abbreviations in titles and captions to illustrations. The units of measurement are indicated in accordance with the decimal system of weights and weights of SI (International System of Units).

The article consists of the following elements: title, abstracts in Ukrainian, Russian, English with keywords, main text, list of references, reference to authors.

The manuscripts for publication are accepted in Ukrainian, Russian or English. The article is published in English without translation into Ukrainian / Russian. The article is available in two languages ​​(English and Ukrainian / Russian).

The list of references includes already published materials and documents that are directly related to the topic of the research, mainly scientific publications in recent years. Non-published articles are not included in the literature list; internal documents; Wikipedia articles and more. unverified sources. References should be numbered alphabetically. References to literary sources in the text of the article are indicated by square numbers and correspond to the numbered sources in the literature list. The authors are responsible for the accuracy of the links.

The last page should have the authors' signatures and each author's contribution to the preparation of the manuscript.

At the end of the manuscript is a reference to the authors. Names, names, patronymic (full), academic degree, academic title, position in the institution / institutions, work address with postal code, work phone and e-mail of all authors are indicated; ORCID (https://orcid.org/register). Reductions are not allowed. If the author works in more than one organization, the data for all organizations is indicated.

Article Types
Identification of article type is the first step of manuscript submission because article type dictates the guidelines that should be used (see below), including formatting and page limits of the manuscript. The main categories of article type are outlined below:
Original articles contains substantial novel research. These articles can include randomized controlled trials, observational (cohort, case-control or cross-sectional) studies, diagnostic accuracy studies, systematic reviews and meta-analyses, nonrandomized behavioral and public health intervention trials. Manuscript of the original article consists of follow sections: title page, main text, abstracts with key words (Ukrainian, Russian, English), additional information, references.
Title (first) page indicates (up down) Universal Decimal Classification (UDC), article title (capital letters), author names (initials and family name), institutional name, city, country.
The main text should be structured with the following subheadings: introduction (wider context that generated the study and the hypothesis based on the literature datа no older than 5-7 years), objective, materials and methods, results and discussions (presenting the data in text, tables and figures with statistical analysis, interpretation and significance of the findings), conclusions with indications of the future research direction, acknowledgements, conflict of interest, references. The main text should not exceed 8 pages, excluding the abstract, references, tables, and figure legends. There should be a maximum of 30 references.
Last page must contain signatures of all authors, full author’s names, their scientific degree and titles, job position, full institutional mailing addresses, numbers of telephones, ORCID ID, scientific contributions and responsibilities of all authors. Must be indicated the contact person (responding author).
Authors are responsible for the accuracy of references. Only papers directly related to the article should be cited. Citations should be numbered in alphabetical order. Papers in press and papers already submitted for publication may be included in the list of references but no citation is required for work that is not yet submitted for publication.
Abstracts should not exceed 250 words and should be structured with the following subheadings: background, objective, materials and methods, results, conclusions and key words. All titles of headings should be highlighted. The manuscript should contain the abstracts in Ukrainian, Russian and English, self-contained and citation-free. At the end of the abstract, the key words are listed.
Review Article is a comprehensive analysis of specific topics in medicine, which is written by author (s) with extensive experience and publications on the review subjects. All review articles will also undergo peer review prior to acceptance. Review articles must not exceed 12 pages for the main text (excluding references, tables, and figure legends) and 400 words for the abstract. A review article can be signed by no more than 5 authors and can have no more than 50 references.
Case report represents interesting rare cases containing a substantial novel finding. Cases should be unique, representing a diagnostic or therapeutic challenge and having a learning point for the readers. Abstracts of case reports should mainly include information about the case and should be lim ited to a maximum of 250 words. The abstract must begin on a separate page and should be structured with the following subheadings: background, case report and conclusion. The main text of case reports should be structured with the following subheadings: introduction, case report, discussion, and references. Case reports must not exceed 7 pages (excluding references, tables, and figure legends). Case reports can be signed by no more than 5 authors and can have no more than 10 references and 5 figures or tables.
The abstracts of conferences should contain brief, but complete, information on the conducted research, clinical observations and should not exceed 3-5 pages. They can be structured, contain keywords, a list of references (up to 7 sources). Abstracts and author information are not required for abstracts.

Requirements for structural elements of the manuscript

Title page. Manuscript shoud be numbered from the first to the last page and signed by all authors (including tables and figures). The first page indicates Universal Decimal Classification (UDC), paper title (capital letters), author names (initials and family name), institutional name, city, country.
The title should be brief and informative, of 150 characters or less, convey the essential message of the paper and contain no abbreviations. On the top of the page left side should be posted the signature of institutional authorities (research advisor) certified by the institutional seal.

Abstract. All types of articles (except abstracts) are accompanied by abstracts and keywords (3 to 8 words, arranged in order of importance) in Ukrainian, English and Russian.

The abstract is an independent and complete source of information with a brief and consistent presentation of the material of the publication, covering the content of the article. References to references, figures and tables in the abstract are not allowed.

Abstracts in all languages ​​must include the title of the article (lowercase, capitalization), author / ditch (initial and last name), organization (full, without abbreviations), city, country, keywords.

Abstracts for original articles should be structured with the following subheadings: relevance, purpose, materials and methods, results, conclusions, and keywords.

Structuring abstracts of review articles is not required.

Abstracts of articles on the description of clinical cases can be structured with the following subheadings: introduction, clinical case, conclusions, keywords.

Introduction. Introduction should be as short as possible. The relevance and significance of the research will be highlighted, a brief historical overview is provided, the goals and objectives of the research are substantiated. The data on the basis of which the hypothesis was made and research are substantiated are widely covered. The introduction should include references to sources of literature.

Materials and methods. This section should contain sufficient detail, so that all experimental procedures can be reproduced, and include references. Methods, however, that have been published in detail elsewhere should not be described in detail. Authors should provide the name of the manufacturer and their location for any specifically named medical equipment and instruments, and all drugs should be identified by their pharmaceutical names, and by their trade name if relevant.
When reporting research involving human data, authors should indicate whether the procedures were conducted in accordance with bioethical standards and assessed by the local ethics committee or national bioethics commission. The same applies to researcher involving laboratory animals. When reporting experiments on animals, authors should indicate whether all necessary procedures were carried out in accordance with national and international standards for the care and use of laboratory animals. All procedures should be described in this section.
For example:  "The research was carried out in accordance with the principles of the Helsinki Declaration. The study protocol was approved by the Local Ethics Committee (LEC) or National Bioethics Committee of all participating institution”, «When carrying out experiments with laboratory animals, all bioethical norms and recommendations were observed»
For articles concerning experimental research on humans, a statement should be included that shows informed consent of patients and volunteers was obtained following a detailed explanation of the procedures that they may undergo.
For example: “The informed consent of the patient was obtained for conducting the studies".

Results of the studies and their discussion. This section should briefly present the results of the studies and their statistical processing. Tables and figures should supplement the text of the article, not duplicate it. Discussion of the results includes the interpretation and objective commentary on the data obtained, determining its significance and linking it to other studies.

Conclusions. The final paragraph should highlight the main conclusion(s), and provide some indication of the direction future research should take.

Conflict of Interest. Authors must declare whether or not there are any competing financial interests in relation to the work described. This information must be included at this stage and will be published as part of the paper. Conflict of interest should also be noted on the cover letter and as part of the submission process. Declaration of the conflict of interest is obligatory
Example: “The authors declare they have no conflict of interest”

References. Authors are encouraged to refer to the original literature, not to review articles. When compiling a list of sources of literature, one must adhere to the standards set by the journal in accordance with international guidelines. When citing publications, preference should be given to the latest, most up-to-date publications. The authors are responsible for the accuracy of the links.

The list of references should be placed at the end of the manuscript and numbered alphabetically. References made in the form of page or end references are not allowed. In the main text of a manuscript, the references cited by the author (s) are indicated by Arabic numerals in square brackets.

There are two options for the list of references.

The first (basic) version is given immediately after the text of the article, the sources are arranged alphabetically. References are given in Latin. Sources in the Ukrainian and Russian languages ​​are given in the spelling as they are indicated and recorded on the English pages of the journal sites. If the source does not have a name in English, it is given in transliteration. This design of the list of references is necessary for the analysis of articles and references to authors in international scientometric databases, to increase the index of citation of authors.

The second version repeats the first one, but the sources in Ukrainian and Russian are submitted in their original form. This variant is necessary for the electronic versions of the magazine on Russian and Ukrainian pages, citations in Cyrillic scientometric bases.

According to the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine No. 40 dated January 12, 2017, “On approval of requirements for the design of theses”, the list of references is made in accordance with APA (American Psychological Association style) style, which can be used in dissertation works.

Tables. The tables must have the heading and the serial number. The notes on the table are placed straight under the table. All tables should be referred to within the main text and they should be numbered consecutively in the order they are referred to within the main text. A descriptive title should be provided for all tables and the titles should be placed above the tables. Tables should be presented within the main document after the reference list. Reference to table footnotes should be made by means of Arabic numerals. Tables should not duplicate the content of the text. They should consist of at least two columns; columns should always have headings. Authors should ensure that the data in the tables are consistent with those cited in the relevant places in the text, totals add up correctly, and percentages have been calculated correctly. Unlike figures or images, tables may be embedded into the word processing software if necessary, or supplied as separate electronic files.

Figures. The number of illustrations (figures, diagrams) should be minimal. Illustrations (graphics, figures and schemes) are built in Word or Excel programs, photos should be saved in one of the following formats: PDF, TIFF, PSD, EPS, AI, CDR, QXD, INDD, JPG (150-600 dpi). Tables and figures are placed in the text of the article immediately after the first mentioned. In the caption to the figure its name is given, and explanation of all the conventional symbols (numbers, letters, curves, etc.). Tables should be compact, numbered, and named. The table numbers, their headings and digital data processed statistically must exactly match the ones given in the text.
