The perspectives of optimization of the all-ukrainian intersectoral system of palliative and geriatric care specialists multilevel training

Objective: medical and social analysis and determining of possible approaches and directions of the organization of specialists’ training optimizing on providing integrated multidisciplinary and intersectoral palliative and geriatric care in Ukraine, which will provide the appropriate quality of life for elderly people. 
 

Materials and methods: domestic and foreign scientific literature, legal documents, medical statistics; information-analytical and statistical methods, comparative content analysis and systematic approach method. 
 

Results: On the basis of international and national experience considered modern approaches and models of All-Ukrainian intersectoral system of specialists’ and representatives of various groups in society multilevel training for providing comprehensive multidisciplinary and intersectoral palliative and geriatric care to population of Ukraine, highlighted the possible directions of the organization of such training optimizing. This will ensure appropriate quality of life for the elderly people, their health improving and their active longevity maintaining. The above is one of the key factors of humanization of society in Ukraine in the current medical-demographic and socio-economic conditions specific. Exceptional value for the quality of palliative and geriatric care is that persons, who work with older people at all levels of palliative and geriatric care, must have basic multidisciplinary training and undergo regular training. Intersectoral and multidisciplinary nature of the problems related to palliative and geriatric care elderly people necessitates coordinated actions of various governmental and nongovernmental organizations. The above requires a Ukrainian intersectoral education center for palliative and geriatric training, with the involvement of the faculty of the department of palliative and hospice medicine and the State educational-methodical geriatric center of the National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education named P.L.Shupyk. Professional and social organizations must achieve inclusion a profession “Sick-nurse” in the list of professions and specialties, as well as inclusion “Sick-nurse” in the staffing of palliative and geriatric care facilities. The real economy and quality of palliative and geriatric multilevel training is relatively cheap versatile use of distance learning. Proved that effective work to create economically advantageous standardized multidisciplinary palliative and geriatric system of training needs to address inter-agency fragmentation of attention and support of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine and Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
