Safety and effectiveness of vitamin and mineral complexes in terms of the interaction of micronutrients: the view of the pharmacist and obstetrician-gynecologist

Probably, many of us since childhood formed an association between the concepts of «vitamins» and «health». In addition, it is constantly supported by the media. The benefit of vitamins is undeniable, all the dangerous consequences of deficiency. There is no unambiguous answer to the question: «Does the population of our country receive enough vitamins and micronutrients with food?», «Do women need to take vitamin and mineral complexes during the period of pre-glad preparation and during pregnancy?», «Which of the many drugs for prevention hypovitaminosis for future mothers safer and more effective?»

Nutrient deficiencies can lead to various complications of pregnancy, in this regard, rational nutrition of women, both during the preparation and during pregnancy, plays an important role in ensuring the full development of the fetus and the prevention of congenital malformations. The most effective method for restoring vitamin deficiency is the regular intake of multivitamin preparations for prophylactic purposes, and the use of these drugs during or after meals provides a full effective interaction of vitamins and minerals with all the components of food. The format of the round table presents the view of the obstetrician-gynecologist and pharmacologist on the modern multivitamin complex «AlfaVit® Mama», which, unlike other complexes, is developed taking into account scientific recommendations for the separate and co-administration of useful substances, which avoids unwanted interaction and intensification beneficial effects.
