In October, 19, 2016 the Verkhovna Rada Committee for Healthcare held hearings “On the implementation the national programme “Reproductive Health of the Nation” for the period till 2015”. The Committee meeting was attended by members of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, representatives of the specialized departments, professional associations, non-governmental organizations. In addition, there were experts responsible for mother and child healthcare from all the administrative territories of Ukraine. During the discussion such positive results of the Programme were stated as the reduction of maternal, infant and perinatal mortality. The speakers also mentioned the problems which made it difficult to implement the Programme, including the insufficient financing. In general, it was concluded that a clear focus and concretization of the activities on the Programme, a cross-sectoral approach to its implementing, positive changes in the mother and child healthcare allowed us to estimate this Programme as successful. On the results of the hearings the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Healthcare adopted recommendations for the executives of all levels to comply with.
