Purpose — to analyze the currently available data on abdominal obstetric hematomas and provide recommendations for their diagnosis and management, taking into account the complexity of their management and the development of modern strategies.
Retroperitoneal hematomas — a rare pathology that differs from the usually observed hematomas in the pelvic area, requires greater awareness of obstetricians. Retroperitoneal hematomas occur both after cesarean section and after normal or operative vaginal delivery. The pathophysiology of occurrence includes mechanical and other causes of spontaneous retroperitoneal hematomas.
The proposed clinical strategy consists in conducting urgent diagnostic measures, determining the composition of the multidisciplinary team to develop a plan and provide qualified assistance.
No conflict of interest were declared by the authors.
