The objective is to develop the program of growth hormone deficiency (GHD) diagnosis and improve identification of the disease in children of the Odessa region.
The study material has been presented by data of examinations the dispensary group of children with GHD, reflected in outpatient cards in of the Department of Nephrology with endocrinological beds and the outpatient department of the Odessa Regional Children's Clinical Hospital.
Results.The clinical and epidemiological examination of children in Odessa region demonstrate underdiagnosis of pathologic causes of short stature and otherconditions potentially associated with poor growth. The main causes of short stature were endocrinopathies, cardiac pathology, respiratory pathology, gastrointestinal pathology, renal diseases, hereditary diseases, psychosocial short stature. idiopatic short stature. The program of GHD diagnosis in children of the Odessa region has been developed and implemented. The program includes 3 section: information; methodological and practical. As a result of the program diagnosis of pediatric GHD significantly improved. In 2017 62 children with dwarfism, caused by a growth hormone deficiency (GHD) were super-vised in the endocrinology center of ORCCH. The prevalence of disease was 1:7384, and total incidence GHD was 13.54 cases per 100,000 children. 62 children with GHD included 47 boys and 15 girls (ratio 3.1:1). Marked heterogeneity of GHD occurrence in Odessa region аssociated with places of patient's residence (DGR-related biogeochemical provinces) has been revealed.
The conclusion. The development of the GHD diagnosis program and research of DGR-related biogeochemical provinces in the Odessa region permited to improve the strategies of pediatric GHD management.
