Problematic issues of development and rehabilitation of premature infants

Object – to highlight the problems of development and rehabilitation of premature infants.

Materials and methods. The object of the study is a system and the chain of health care facilities for infants and young children. The national and international approaches to the system of health care prevention for children who have a risk of disability are used. The legal framework and other legal acts of Ukraine, which regulate medical care to children in the state, sectoral and local levels, as well as approaches to the provision of medical care for children with serious illnesses in Germany are studied. The methods of a systematic approach, structure and logic, and content analysis and also statistics, information and analytical methods are used.

Results. Intensive technologies of Health Service have significantly increased the survival rate of prematurely born children. However, its level is much lower than in Bavaria: in Ukraine for the period 2013 year among newborns with weight 500.0-999.0 g it was 63.8%; 1000.0-1500.0 g – 89.7%. It behooves physicians to improve obstetric and perinatal care, to apply rational therapy for reducing of disability in premature infants, as well as to solve a deontological question of passing of individual infants with quite severe lesions into palliative care with the use of experience of the Bavarian physicians.

Conclusions. Increased disability among children requires further implementation of the system of comprehensive rehabilitation, the development of the principles of social pediatrics. It is needed: the development of the chain of catamnesis offices and early intervention centers and changes in approaches to the definition of disability in children in accordance with the classification of the main categories of life and severity of the restriction degeneration factor.
