Introduction. Today, diseases of the gastrointestinal tract in children rank second among general morbidity of children population of Ukraine and marked increase in the frequency of detection of chronic gastroduodenitis in children of all ages. Proved that the gastroduodenal pathology leads to the metabolism of calcium in the body and the formation of osteopenic syndrome.
The purpose of the work. Determine the frequency of osteopenic syndrome in children with chronic gastroduodenitis to develop methods for correcting osteopenic conditions.
Materials and methods. The study involved 149 children with disorders of the gastrointestinal tract in acute aged 7 to 17 minutes according to the diagnosis and treatment of digestive diseases in children. A study of the bone density is made by ultrasound densitometry on the unit Sunlight MiniOmniTM also a study of calcium in the hair by X-ray fluorescence spectrometry 32 children with chronic gastroduodenitis.
Results. We found that children with chronic gastroduodenitis have had osteopenic syndrome detected significantly more often (34.1%) compared with children with other disorders of the gastrointestinal tract. Depending on the radius bone density of children with chronic gastroduodenitis were divided into 2 groups of observation: the main group — 28 children had osteopenia and comparison group — 54 children had chronic gastroduodenitis and normal bone density. The study showed that in group with pain and paresthesias in extremities occur fairly often — in 67.8% of subjects than children with CGD and normal state of bone tissue (14.8%). Calcium deficiency in hair significantly more frequently observed in children of the main group — in 77.8% of patients than comparison group of children — at 42.8%.
Conclusions. These The data suggest that further study of children with chronic gastroduodenitis in terms of calcium deficiency and the presence of osteopenia.
Key words: osteopenia, calcium, children, chronic gastroduodenitis.
