Enterosorption in complex treatment of somatic diseases in children

The objective of the study — to study the effectiveness of the use of the gastrointestinal sorption method in the treatment of children with various somatic diseases as an additional means of non-specific detoxification.

Data for study and methods. According to the set objective of the study, the method of enteral detoxification with the use of different classes of sorbents (uvesorb, enterosgel, multisorb, smectite, philtrum, atoxyl) was applied in the treatment of children with rheumatic diseases (500 children at the age of 3–18), chronic viral hepatitis (120 children at the age of 6–16), diarrheal syndrome (30 infants in the first year of life).

Outcomes. The results of clinical observations have shown that inclusion of the primary therapy of children with rheumatic diseases, chronic viral hepatitis, diarrhea syndrome enterosorbents, promotes more rapid and persistent inverse dynamics of the symptoms of the general intoxification and typical clinical manifestations of this disease, reduces the risk of side effects and improves the safety of drug therapy.

Conclusion. Enterosorption, as a non-specific method of detoxification of the body, being pathogenetically justified in the treatment of rheumatic diseases, chronic viral hepatitis, diarrheal syndrome in children, is a safe therapeutic measure, and the method of administration of sorbents is easy and affordable.
