Aim – to conduct a theoretical analysis of scientific sources that characterize the process of development of socio-emotional intelligence of women in martial law.
The phenomenon of socio-emotional intelligence of women in extreme conditions of martial law is based on the concept of «emotional intelligence». The combination of emotional awareness, self-regulation, empathy and constructive use of emotions to optimize cognitive activity and social interaction in crisis circumstances is a necessary component of the behavioral structure of women in martial law. Socio-emotional intelligence is the ability to understand one's own emotions and motives, manage them, and recognize the emotional states of other people. In martial law, the psyche of women is subjected to greater stress. A high level of socio-emotional intelligence contributes to the effective overcoming of stressful situations and frustration; maintaining the ability to make balanced decisions; maintaining healthy communication in the family, team and with children. Systematization of specific destructive factors of war that affect the psyche of women allows us to distinguish psychotraumatic consequences, intrapsychic conflicts, reduced cognitive potential and risks of somatic disorders under the influence of prolonged stress. The gender specificity of emotional response proves the determining role of social norms and gender-role identification in the Ukrainian socio-cultural space. Socio-emotional intelligence is a fundamental mechanism of psychological resilience that allows women, in particular internally displaced persons and volunteers, to successfully differentiate traumatic experiences, maintain internal balance and build solidarity ties in the community. The dynamic nature of the process of developing socio-emotional intelligence in women under martial law opens up prospects for the implementation of programs of socio-emotional training, art therapy techniques and psychological training aimed at post-traumatic growth.
The development of empathy and self-regulation skills is considered a critical condition for preserving women’s subjectivity and mental health, as well as a guarantee of their effective leadership in the process of post-war reconstruction of Ukrainian society. Controlling emotions in martial law is of great importance for making rational decisions, ensuring personal safety, and facilitating effective response measures.
