The purpose of the study: the study of correlations between the level of basic gonadotropic and steroid hormones in follicular phase of the menstrual cycle and concentration of serotonin in women with chronic pelvic pain syndrome.

Materials and methods. A study of the major markers of chronic stress and hormonal status by the immunoassay method in women with chronic pelvic pain of the main group and healthy women of the control group with further study of the correlation between the obtained indicators.

Results. It has been established that women with chronic pelvic pain have a statistically significant increase of serotonin, epinephrine and norepinephrine, which indicates a constant activation of the stress response system and reflects the disintegration of the adaptive processes. The hormonal profile of women with chronic pelvic pain is characterized by dysfunction of the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian system, namely the imbalance in the secretion of basic tropic pituitary hormones in different phases of menstrual cycle – FSH, LH, reduced concentrations of estradiol and progesterone and a moderate increase of prolactin and cortisol. In the study of correlational relationship the influence of neurotransmitters on the major steroid and sex hormones has been proved.

Conclusion. In the study of the formation of pathogenetic links of chronic pelvic pain syndrome is necessary to study the correlation between the level of serotonin, a basic steroid and sex hormones in women with this pathological condition for establishing relations of psychological and hormonal status.

Key words: chronic pelvic pain syndrome, psychological status, hormonal profiles, correlational relationship.
