Purpose of the study: evaluate the effectiveness of one of the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs – Nimesulide in treating various conditions involving pain.
Materials of and methods. In observation it included 30 postmenopausal women (age 50–60 years), each of which was administered 100 mg of Nimesulide (Nimesil) into 1 time per day in the complex therapy of climacteric syndrome for relief of symptomatic headaches.
Results. The study found that Nimesulide is well tolerated by women on a background of the climacteric syndrome, rapidly relieves acute attacks of pain conditions, including migraine, it does not cause significant side effects.
Conclusions. Due to changes in the demographic structure of society the woman’s health in the perimenopausal period is not only medical but also social value. Among a variety of complaints expressed by women isolated symptoms of psychological and organic. Many women experience depression, mood swings, sleep disturbances, nervousness, memory loss, headaches, due to a reaction to estrogen deficiency in the central nervous system. Answering the basic requirements of modern drugs for the relief of acute attacks of pain, as well as in the treatment of chronic pain, combining high efficiency and safety, Nimesulide provides a fast analgesic effect, thereby improving the quality of life of patients.
