Assay of international experience in accreditation of continuing professional development of medical workers

The system of continuing medical education, continuing professional development of medical workers is widespread all over the world, but there are different
approaches and peculiarities of its organization. Standards and requirements for the planning and provision of continuing education and certification system,
that confirms the implementation of these standards and requirements, have long been developed and are being used in Europe and North America. An important link in the organization and providing high quality postgraduate education for doctors is the accreditation of educational activities.
The analysis of existing models of accreditation of educational activities in the US, Canada and EU countries has showed that the accreditation of educational
activities in these countries has its own characteristics. The most perfect, effective and internationally recognized model can be considered the provider accreditation of continuing medical education in the United States. Also there is highly effective combined model of accreditation which is used in Canada.
On the way to further development and improvement of the system of postgraduate education in Ukraine, important place occupies the use of the experience
of countries with a stable, highly effective continuing system of professional training and education of medical workers taking into account national peculiarities, the existing accreditation model and the educational infrastructure. The introduction of the most effective model of accreditation in Ukraine will facilitate
Ukraine's access to the international community of continuing medical education, continuing professional development of medical workers.
