Takayasu's disease (Nonspecific Aortoarteritis)

Modern idea of etiology, pathogenesis, clinical picture, diagnostics and treatment of Takayasu's disease in children and teens are reviewed. Takayasu's disease is a chronic and recurrent inflammatory disease of aorta and its main branches of unclear etiology. Prevalence of Takayasu's disease is not high, it is happened among women mostly. Takayasu's disease symptoms are non-specific. Glucocorticoids, genetically engineered biological agents are widely used for Takayasu's disease treatment; surgery is also in use to remove vascular occlusion.
