Influence urogenital chlamydial infection in pregnant women on reproductive health

Studies of pregnant women for chlamydiasis using an immunoenzyme assay yielded positive reaction in 418 patients (41.62%) Positive results were obtained in 174 (41.62%), confirmed by nucleic acid amplification (PCR diagnostics) in 138 (33.01%) of the total number of surveys. 53.12% of the women included in the study had complicated obstetric and gynecological history while 73.56%were at risk of abortion. Patients offered specific anti – chlamydial therapy suffered a significantly lower incidence of premature delivery and minimal risk of intrauterine and generalized neonatal infection.
