The article provides an overview of data of domestic and foreign medical literature on the etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, clinic and treatment of various forms of postpartum psychosis. The role of early diagnosis and prevention of postpartum psychosis at the obstetric facilities level were emphasized.

Key words: postpartum psychosis, pregnancy, childbirth.
