Perinatal history of adolescent girls with primary oligomenorrhea and reproductive system function peculiarities of their mothers

Purpose: to explore the features of the perinatal history of adolescent girls with oligomenorrhea and primary function of the reproductive system of their mothers.

Patients and methods: Perinatal, family history, menstrual and reproductive function have been studied of 115 teenage girls' mothers aged 12 to 17 with primary oligomenorrhea (IOM) and 102 girls of the same age with regular menstrual cycles (comparison group; CG). These girls did not differ from the parameters obtained in the population-based study in the Kharkiv region. The statistical analysis was performed using the software package Statgraphics. To assess the significance of differences in the results of the study it was used the criterion of angular Fischer (j) transformation. To estimate the probability of occurrence of the primary oligomenorrhea it was used the odds ratio with the definition of the 95% confidence interval. To evaluate the prognostic significance and the information content of all the studied risk factors.

Results: It is shown that the most unfavorable factor in the emergence of IOM within an abdolescent girls is the early reproductive age of their mothers. It's determined that the probability of an occurrence of IOM in an adolescent girls is distress syndrome and threatened miscarriage.
