The risk factors and clinical metabolical aspects in the development of arterial hypertension among children

Purpouse: the evaluation of еру clinical metabolical aspects and the most important factors risk in the development of arterial hypertension among children.
Patients and methods: the research included 110 children with arterial hypertension, overweight and obesity (average age 13.5). There were investigated complaints, anamnesis aggravated with the cardiovascular diseases, parameters of the lipid and carbohydrate metabolism and also the level of the serum homocysteine.
Results: the most frequent complaints of the patients with the arterial hypertension were the following: headaches (95.83%), dizziness (91.67%), heartaches (62.50%), epistaxis (25.00%), vomiting (16.67%) and presyncope conditions (4.17%). An aggravated family history in arterial hypertension was registered in 66.67% of the cases in group I and in 52% of the cases in group II. There was also determined aggravated anamnesis in the first and second generation in obesity (29.17%), diabetes mellitus (33.33%), angina (8.33%) at children in group I compared with group II. The parameters changes in of HDL were found among children in group I 1.34 mmol/l and 1.44 mmol/l in group II compared with the control group (1.96 mmol/l), but LDL was higher in both groups (2.35 mmol/l / 2.16 mmol/l) in comparison with control group (1.71 mmol/l). The serum homocysteine was investigated among 35 children with an arterial hypertension, overweight and obesity and showed the hyperhomocysteinemiain in 65.70% of the cases.
Conclusions: the very research showed the presence of the nonspecific complaints among children with an arterial hypertension as well as aggravated anamnesis in an arterial hypertension, diabetes mellitus and obesity. The parameters of lipid metabolism did not exceed age indices, but were high if compared with the control group. The level of homocystein at 65.70% with an arterial hypertension confirms the importance of this marker in the development of an arterial hypertension.
