The purpose of this study was to evaluate the venotonics effectiveness for secondary prevention of pain in reproductive age women with pelvic veins varicosis.

Were examined 65 reproductive age women. All women were randomly divided into two groups: basic (n 33) and comparison (n=32). All patients before inclusion in this study received treat the Normoven for 3 months. During the study patients of main group received Normoven within a month after 3 months from the end of the main course of treatment with repeated course 3 months later. Women in the comparison group were observed in dynamics. Patients from both groups were examined at 6 months after the end of the main course of therapy (the time of inclusion into the study).

Evaluation of complaints showed that during the study recurrence of pain was recorded in 12.12% of patients in the first group and 59.38% – in the second (p<0.05). Women who received preventive courses, subjectively assessed pain as less pronounced than those who received nothing. So in the 1st group, the average score on a visual analog scale was 2.75±0.09 points, while in the 2nd – 3.11±0.06 points (p<0.05).

Analysis of the blood flow parameters at the beginning and end of the study shows that, if in the study group they maintain at the same level, in the comparison group they deteriorate.

The authors concluded that the likelihood of recurrence of pain due to pelvic veins varicosis increases after 3 months from the end of the main course of therapy; appointment of short preventive courses of venotonics every 3 months stabilize the situation and prevent recurrence.
