All forms of juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) are associated with a decrease in health-related quality of life and with the risk of chronic joint damage. At the same time, the disease may persist even after reaching adulthood. Considering the prevalence of JIA among the pediatric population, the need for prolonged pathogenetic treatment in this group of patients raises the issue of enhancing the natural adaptive capacities of the body, reducing the negative effects of immunosuppressive therapy by adding supplements to the diet to improve the health status of this cohort of children.
Aim – to determine the effectiveness of the medicinal product «Сardonatе» in children with JIA against the background of immunosuppressive therapy.
Materials and methods. Against the background of basic therapy, 30 children with JIA received the medicinal product «Cardonate». The effectiveness of the combined therapy was assessed based on clinical indicators, laboratory and instrumental data before and after taking.
Results. Against the background of taking the medicinal product «Cardonate», patients experienced an improvement in well-being, a decrease in transaminase levels was noted, and an improvement in electrocardiographic indicators was observed.
Conclusions. The medicinal product «Cardonate» can be used in the complex therapy of children with JIA to reduce the manifestations of metabolic dysfunction against the background of immunosuppressive therapy.
The research was carried out in accordance with the principles of the Helsinki Declaration. The informed consent of the patients was obtained for conducting the studies.
