In the review of the article «Mistreatment of Women during Childbirth in hospitals: a mixed systematical review», published in the medical journal «PLOS MEDICINE» June 30, 2015 refers to the results of 65 cases of violent treatment of women before and during childbirth in 34 countries with different level of GDP and quality of care. On the basis of these results, WHO experts have developed a typology of violent behavior and characterized the specific forms of violence towards women. The results show that the cruel behavior of physicians to pregnancy and childbirth can be found everywhere in the world, but with a different range. Such behavior cannot be justified because it has negative consequences for women as well as for society. Recommendations of WHO experts provide information to the hospitals in order to develop necessary conditions for women and be sure that they have the opportunity to the most approachable level of health and the opportunity to be free from violence and discrimination.
