All medical society discusses the problems of lung injuries in users of e-cigarettes and vaping products now. These products were presented as safe from the beginning, but results of recent scientific researches have shown unexpected health threats. Short observations reveal that there are medical risks of using e-cigarettes as well. The biggest concerns are due to big popularity and widespread of e-cigarettes among teens and young adults including Ukraine. The most dangerous complication is the development of e-cigarette, or vaping product use associated lung injury (EVALI). Another big negative consequence of using e-cigarette among adolescent is the increased risk of smoking traditional cigarettes.
Ukrainian Academy of Pediatric Specialties made 7 recommendations on the regulation of using e-cigarettes and vaping products that are based on actual scientific data.
