Diverse spectrum of carbohydrate metabolism abnormalities in children and adolescents is not limited only to the development of diabetes mellitus type 1. MODY1diabetes is one of the diseases, which can cause hyperglycemia in children and young people. Clinical characteristics, the main variants of syndrome as well as criteria and methods of diagnostics are shown in the article.
