Инфекции мочевыводящих путей занимают третье место по распространенности после респираторных и желудочно-кишечных инфекций. Фактически бактериальные инфекции мочевыводящих путей являются наиболее частой причиной как внутрибольничных, так и внебольничных инфекций у пациентов.
Воспалительные заболевания органов малого таза (ВЗОМТ) – это инфекционные воспалительные заболевания верхних отделов женских половых путей. Кроме того, инфекция может распространяться и на брюшную полость. Классическими пациентками с высоким риском возникновения ВЗОМТ в первую очередь являются женщины с несколькими половыми партнерами и наличием незащищенных половых контактов.
