Perinatal outcomes in HIV-infected pregnant women with herpes virus infection

Objective: To identify features of perinatal outcomes in HIV-infected pregnant women with herpes infection (HVI). 
 

Patients and methods. Clinical and statistical analysis of 1177 individual cards of pregnant women with HVI and also birth stories and the stories of newborns for the period 2009-2013 yy. have been used. The control group consisted of 200 pregnant women with physiological pregnancy and childbirth. The methods of parametric and non-parametric statistics were applied. 
 

Results. Among HIV-infected pregnant women with ARI observed a large number of women with low levels of CD4+ and high viral load. In women with ARI were higher incidence of placental insufficiency, threatened miscarriage, premature birth and fetal distress. The frequency of premature rupture of membranes and extending of dry period is marked in two times higher. Born in a state of severe asphyxia 12.1% of children of mothers with ARI versus 6.2% without ARI (p<0.05), with malnutrition — 31.3% and 25.7%, respectively (p<0.05). Among the syndromes of dysadaptation of newborns and ARI in their mother more often were observed neurological disorders, respiratory distress syndrome, conjugation jaundice, gastrointestinal disorders. 
 

Conclusions. The negative impact of ARI on the course of HVI, the condition of women, pregnancy course, childbirth, fetus and newborn condition is proved.
