Constipation is not only a critical medical, but also a social problem. Treatment of functional constipation (FC) in young children includes the use of dietary correction and pharmacological therapy. Diet therapy for constipation is aimed at stimulating the intestine motility, stopping spastic conditions and normalizing microbiocenosis. Pharmacotherapy of FC in children should be focus on achieving painless act of defecation and soft consistency of fecal masses. Microlax® is a new in the Ukrainian market combined medication in microclysters that provides fast and reliable relief from constipation. Microlax® has not addicting property and special contraindications. It almost does not cause systemic adverse reactions and does not interact with other drugs.
