2011 IFCPC – Colposcopic terminology for the cervix and the interpretation of the terms «General Assessment»

The article discusses the issues of correct interpretation some aspects of the «General Assessment» of the 2011 IFCPC Colposcopic terminology of the cervix. The modern nomenclature is constructed in the form of a table in such a way that it provides a clear step-by-step algorithm for the doctor on the colposcopic evaluation of the cervix. A detailed analysis of such concepts as «adequate / inadequate colposcopy», «squamo-columnar junction visibility», «type of transformation zone». For a better visual perception, the article is illustrated by colposcopy and color schemes that explain this processes on the cervix.
