Наличие у пациентов множественных энхондром диагностируется как множественный энхондроматоз. Эта патология включает несколько различных подтипов заболевания — болезнь Олье и синдром Маффуччи (множественный энхондроматоз, сочетанный с гемангиомами мягких тканей), являющихся наиболее распространенными. Иногда заболевание приобретает сложную клиническую картину, если происходит злокачественная трансформация, которая является хорошо известным фактом, особенно при акроформе болезни Олье, хотя до сих пор существует недостаток информации и рекомендаций, касающихся данной проблемы.
