Successful surgical treatment of a giant teratoid ovary cyst, complicated by compression of the abdominal cavity and diaphragm, in a newborn girl

Ovarian cysts are considered rare in pediatric practice. Ovarian tumors occur in 1% of all tumors in children. Sex glands are the second most frequent localization of teratoid tumors in children, after the sacrococcygeal region. A clinical case of a giant teratoid ovarian cyst is described, with compression of the abdominal and diaphragm organs, in a newborn girl. After radical surgery, postoperative period was uneventful.
